The Best Restaurants in Las Vegas: My Top 5

Las Vegas is known for many things, including casinos, nightclubs, shows, and drive-through wedding chapels. However, the most beloved aspect of the city might be the incredibly gastronomic experiences that can be had. From small restaurants with impeccable service, to large dining room buffets serving thousands of guests each night--Las Vegas has it all. Here are my top 5 picks for wonderful dining in Las Vegas.

5. Restaurant Guy Savoy:

Restaurant Guy Savoy The Las Vegas location is the only place in America to enjoy Guy Savoy's incredible French cuisine. The 3-Starred Michelin Chef and France's "Chef of the Year" has a fine dining establishment in Caesar's Palace. This location has repeatedly received high marks and words of praise from critics, and has been rated as one of the city's top restaurants. There are several menu options available for diners. To get a quick taste of the French cuisine, sip champagne at the Bubble Bar and try some of the tapas style delicacies. A TGV express dinner guarantees a 90 minute finish, and is named after the high-speed trains in Savoy's home country. If you have more time, stay for an entire 10 course Prestige dinner.

4. Picasso:

Restaurant PicassoThis restaurant in the Bellagio Hotel is named after the artist who lived in regions where this style of food originates--namely, Spain and France. Additionally, the restaurant is filled with pieces of art done by Picasso, which lend a creative air to both the dining room and the kitchen where Chef Julian Serrano creates his own edible masterpieces. The theatre menu is particularly loved, and will guarantee you to be finished in time for one of the many nightly shows in Las Vegas. If the meal alone is your evening's entertainment, stay for the entire degustation menu, with each course paired with one of the restaurant's 1,500 types of wines on hand.

3. Roy's:

Restaurant Roy'sIf you would rather be in Hawaii than in the Nevada desert, head to Roy's for incredible Hawaiian fusion cuisine. This chain of restaurants was begun my James Beard Award Winner Roy Yamaguchi, and continues to this day to be a careful blend of Asian ingredients and European technique. The Las Vegas Roy's can be found in the Flamingo Hotel and Casino. All of the dishes have an exotic, tropical flavor, along with a distinctly Asian taste. Expect lots of sushi and fresh seafood on the menu. Indulge in some of the creative tropical cocktails to feel as relaxed as if you were reclining on a hammock on the island of Hawaii.

2. Craftsteak:

Restaurant CraftsteakAlthough Chef Tom Collichio may be well known now for his hosting of the popular show "Top Chef," he is first and foremost a chef on his own. This is his take on a gourmet steakhouse, located in the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. The ingredients come from small, locally sourced farms, and are prepared simply to allow the natural flavors to come through in the dish. Although the emphasis is certainly on quality steaks, there are also plenty of other protein options, including lobster, salmon, and veal. Enjoy one of the fine wines recommended along with each dish, many of which come from California.

1. Joël Robuchon Restaurant:

Joël Robuchon RestaurantWhile there are two restaurants in the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino with Joël Robuchon at the helm, this is the more upscale and intimate of the two establishments. The seating area is quite small, allowing for an air of exclusivity among diners. Expect to spend several hours enjoying the set meals, particularly the sixteen course degustation menu. His rich and luxurious ingredients provide an incredible meal that will certainly not be soon forgotten.
